Kritzow is a good starting point for trips to the surrounding area as well as Mecklenburg and Vorpommern (Western Pomerania).

Apart from classical destinations like the regional capital Schwerin with its castle, museums, old town and television tower, you can visit the habour cities Rostock and Wismar or idyllic towns like Crivitz, Parchim, Ludwigslust or Güstrow. Besides, you can discover a lot more in the country side.

An original rebuild Slav-castle invites you for a visit close to Sternberg (ca. 27 km).

In Platschow (ca. 60 km at the boarder Brandenburg – Mecklenburg) there is Germany’s only elephant farm with seven elephants.

Also the 400 years old Pingelhof in Alt Damerow (ca. 30 km) with its agrarian historic museum is worth a visit.

The archaeological path (with the length of ca. 6 km) leads through the hills of Kritzow and is a highlight you won’t miss.
